DIVISION OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES AND MATHEMATICS

Dedicated to advancing students' skills in Physical Sciences and Mathematics through research, education, and public service, it has notably produced distinguished graduates and housed the majority of the university's summa cum laude awardees (6 out of 8) which includes five summa cum laude graduates from BS in Applied Mathematics and one from BS in Computer Science, striving to cultivate competent, responsible graduates with a mastery of their respective disciplines. As it continues to push the boundaries of academic exploration, the Division of Physical Sciences and Mathematics remains a cradle of holistic learning, shaping the future leaders of our world.

The Division of Physical Sciences and Mathematics, an academic unit within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of the Philippines Visayas, offers undergraduate programs, including a BS in Applied Mathematics, a BS in Computer Science, and a BS in Statistics program. The division remains at the forefront of educational evolution, with its programs receiving their latest revisions in 2018, ensuring relevance in today's fast-paced world.

Division of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (DPSM) of the University of the Philippines Visayas is composed of faculty members coming from the Computer Science, Statistics, and Physics clusters.

Currently, the division offers the three (3) degree programs:

  • B.S. in Computer Science,
  • B.S in Applied Mathematics,
  • and B.S. in Statistics.
